SunMan Engineering: Product Development and Prototyping Specialists

CIO VendorAllen Nejah, Founder & CEO
Whether it is to reduce expenses, maximize efficiency, or increase product development capabilities, more and more companies are relying on electronic engineering, development, and prototyping service firms. Lack of in-house specialists, the requirement to expedite delivery, the need for flexibility in development, and budget constraints are some of the reasons why outsourcing is preferred to fulfill a plethora of business demands. Established with a vision to provide comprehensive engineering, technology development, and prototyping services to clients that lack engineering assets in their core competency, Silicon Valley-based SunMan Engineering is adept at meeting today’s product development and prototyping needs. Apart from catering to commercial enterprises that range from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, a major portion of SunMan Engineering’s projects comes from the U.S defense industry including Lockheed Martin, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. military. The company is also a U.S. GSA contract holder (GS-10F-002AA) and has been selected as a prime contractor for the U.S. Navy’s SeaPort-e due to years of exceptional service on previous government projects.

Offering engineering expertise across wide applications in both mechanical and electronic disciplines, SunMan Engineering focuses on providing high-quality and cost-efficient services right from product concept to final product manufacturing. The company’s services portfolio comprises electronics and mechanical product architecture, development, and prototyping including circuit design, PCB layout and schematic capture, reverse engineering, firmware and software, and wireless and RF services among others.

We remain dedicated to providing our clients with quality engineering solutions at a competitive price in a timely manner

Founder and CEO of SunMan Engineering, Allen Nejah explains, “We address issues early in the concept stage and throughout the product development cycle in order to save time, effort, and cost when a final product is produced.” SunMan Engineering leverages the latest cutting-edge tools along with a library of proven hardware and software components to draw on fine-tuned measures that help avoid pitfalls. Further, the company brings together the entire engineering team working on a project to meet on a daily basis to discuss their accomplishments for the day, challenges faced, and action items for the next step. Nejah adds, “Checking and verifying every completed step before moving on to the next has helped us successfully increase the chances of finalizing the product on the first prototype.”

Specifically, since 2005, SunMan Engineering has architected products across various domains, including remote sensing in petroleum, automobile, IT, home automation, security, air quality, agriculture, and waste management along with powerful proprietary security technology for the entire product line. “We have also developed intelligent industrial control boards to sense, manage, and communicate with other systems via different interfaces, protocols, and wireless methods,” adds Nejah. As a pioneer in the IoT industry, SunMan Engineering is one of the first companies to develop connected car technology back in 2005 through 2011 partnering with Intel, Clearwire, Vodafone, setting the stage for internet connectivity found in virtually every vehicle today. The connected car concept included a powerful vehicle-mounted device with Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, Bluetooth, GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter, temperature sensor, and touchscreen, designed to provide mobile functions for a better driving experience and improved safety. Additionally, the company also helped develop one of the smallest personal computers in the world in 2011, the size of a credit card, for the DoD.

Recently, SunMan Engineering released a portfolio of products aimed at simplifying IoT for the entire range of connectivity applications. This includes a low-cost family of small wireless and wired modules along with all the necessary sensor interfaces that self-configure for full cloud connectivity. “We remain dedicated to providing our clients with quality engineering solutions at a competitive price in a timely manner,” concludes Nejah.
